The year has started off with County Squad Training which has been a great success at Murcar Links. Our thanks go to Gary Forbes, Head Professional for running the sessions.

Junior coaching will again take place at Portlethen Golf Club with Head Professional David Pocock in April and May. Please inform our new Junior Convenor Ellie Whyte , alcga.juniors@gmail.com as soon as possible of any new Junior members so we can invite them along. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Our first event is at at Ballater Golf Club on Friday 25th April. There is always a big entry to this popular event. The closing date is Friday 11th April. To secure your place get your entry in as soon as possible.

This will be closely followed by our County Championship 2025 at Kemnay Golf Club. The qualifying round is on Friday 2nd May, matchplay  on Saturday 3rd May  and Sunday 4th  May. Please come along on Sunday the 4th May to watch and support the finalists as I am sure the golf will be of the highest quality.

I would encourage you to enter as many County Meetings as you can throughout the year as these are very sociable, a great way to play other courses and meet players from other clubs.

I wish you all a very happy and successful golf season in 2025 and I look forward to seeing you  at our county events.

01/03/25 County Squad Training Session 2 - Murcar Links Golf Club

The girls for a change  enjoyed good weather to work on their pitching and putting.

Vice Captain Linda, Selector Carol and myself were all very impressed with the range of shots we saw, especially as the challenges were set up to be very testing.

Thanks to Gary Forbes Head Professional at Murcar Links Golf Club for leading the session.

16/02/25 County Squad Training Session 1 - Murcar Links Golf Club

Aberdeenshire County Training got under way Sunday 16th February with the girls braving the weather at Murcar Links Golf Club with Head Professional Gary Forbes.

Due to the weather Gary had set up putting drills indoors and various short game challenges under cover on the range. It was a most productive and enjoyable session.
