 Update to County Competitions

Evening ladies, just a quick update from me today to say that we spoke with Scottish Golf this morning and hopefully any issues with people not being able to enter is now resolved. Please get in touch at alcga.comp.sec@gmail.com if you are still experiencing issues entering.

I have now created all of the County Opens for the season so you can go and enter them to your heart's content!

I have made one small change to the entry page -

So everyone playing pays the Basic Entry of £4.00 but if you are not a member of the host club then you click to pay the Green Fees as well.

So as you can see in this example as I am not a member of Ballater I have clicked the circle next to the Green Fees to turn it blue, and will pay £20.00 to play this open.

If you do not have access to the Scottish Golf App then you need to email me at alcga.comp.sec@gmail.com and let me know which competitions you want to enter and I will enter them on your behalf.

Any questions either give me a shout or speak to your County Rep.

Thanks

Fiona Campbell

Competition Secretary

Evening Ladies

I appreciate that the start of the season is drawing ever closer, I know a number of you have been in touch regarding entering County Competitions and County Opens.

As some of you may have seen we have tried to open a couple of the early County Opens and the County Championship and we know that some members have had issues with being able to enter so we can only apologise to those members and let them know we are currently working with Scottish Golf to get these issues resolved.

I have now opened up the Opens at both Ballater and Aboyne as well as the County Championship at Fraserburgh.

To enter these competitions you need to have paid your ALCGA membership subs using the Scottish Golf app or through your County rep.

You can find these competitions by clicking on the Comps tab along the bottom of the app and then selecting Regional along the top and selecting the Open or Competition you want to enter. (See below picture)

Once you have selected the competition you want to enter you need to click on the Green Enter button (See below picture as an example)

All County Members need to pay the Basic Entry to every Competition or Open. For County Competitions (such as the Championship) the green fee is included in the Basic Entry.

For County Opens if you are not a local member of the club the Open is being played at you need to select the supplement option (see below picture as an example) and this will include your green fee in your entry.

If you have money in your ALCGA account you can pay from this account, if you don't you will be asked to top up your account.

You can choose to top up as you enter each and every competition, or if you can see from my example (I have topped up by £40.00) you can top up a set amount in advance and then just use the money in your account when you enter the competitions.

Hopefully that makes sense to you all, if you have any problems at all with entering the competition or get a message similar to the one in the below picture, please email me at alcga.comp.sec@gmail.com and I will do what I can to fix the issue.

Thank you all for your patience as we transition to using technology to (hopefully) make everything a bit simpler to enter going forward.

I look forward to seeing some of you at County events this season.

All the best

Welcome 2022

Welcome to the 2022 County golfing season.

This season we intend to run a full calendar of events. The season’s fixture list is displayed separately. The Golf View League which has not been contested for the past two years will again be run. Clubs have been contacted and are asked to enter this by March 20th.

This year where possible we hope to use the Scottish Golf App for payment of the annual subscription. Invoices have already been issued. For those yet to pay your subscription, if you have not received an email inviting you to pay using the App and cannot see any outstanding actions in the Scottish Golf App then please contact alcga.treasurer@gmail.com. While payment via the App is the preferred method of payment, the traditional method of payment via your reps will also be available should you prefer this.

We will also be using the Scottish Golf App for competition entries this season. I thank all the County Reps for organising and the clubs who host our Open Meetings. I must also thank the clubs who are hosting our centrally organised events for most generously giving us courtesy of their courses. This year we are also responsible for the North of Scotland Championship which Newmachar Golf Club have generously agreed to host using both their courses. I hope we can have a strong Aberdeenshire representation at this event where you will be guaranteed a minimum of two rounds of golf and would encourage anyone who has not played in this previously to enter. Note that this event incorporates the North of Scotland Junior Championship.

My thanks also go to our junior conveners for organising the junior programme. Please show your support for their efforts by encouraging any juniors you are aware of at your club to join the County or contact Sammy Fanthorpe directly.

New members are welcome.  Ladies and girls in Aberdeenshire with a handicap index of 32.0 or lower can join.  The annual subscription is £10 for ladies and £5 for juniors, and in the first year there is also a £10 joining fee.  Please contact alcga.treasurer@gmail.com for further information.

Congratulations to Jasmine Mackintosh on being selected for the Nations Cup team to play in Sotogrande at the end of the month and to Sheena Wood and Susie Macleod on being selected for the Scottish Vets team to play Ireland also at the end of the month.

May I wish everyone an enjoyable and successful golfing season. I look forward to seeing you on a course.
