WELCOME 2023
Welcome to the start of another season of County Golf.
We will again have a full calendar of events. Our first
County Open at Ballater is only a few weeks away. This is closely followed by
the County Championship from 28-30th April at Portlethen. Could I
please encourage as many of you as possible to enter this, our most prestigious
event. Do remember that there is both a scratch and a handicap championship
providing a competition for everyone.
We are using the new Scottish Golf App. for collecting
subscriptions and managing our competition entries. Unfortunately the new App.
is proving somewhat problematic. I am very grateful to our treasurer, Laura
McLardy, and our Competitions Secretary, Fiona Campbell, who have put in a
tremendous amount of work to get us where we are. However we know that some of
you are experiencing difficulties or indeed are unable to use the App. on your
phones. Thank you for your forbearance while we hope that Scottish Golf resolves
the issues. If you are experiencing problems with competition entries or account top ups please
email Fiona at alcga.comp.sec@gmail.com
or for membership queries contact Laura at alcga.treasurer@gmail.com
Juniors.
At the AGM it was agreed that the initial joining and subsequent annual fees for junior members would be waived. Please encourage your junior members to join the County.
Junior fixtures are shown on the ALCGA website under the
“Junior” tab. The majority of these are run in parallel with the Junior Tour
organised by the NE District. Unfortunately entries cannot currently be taken
via the App. While the NE District await resolution of their IT issues entries can
be made by emailing info@sgunortheast.net.
My thanks go to all the clubs who have granted us courtesy
of their course for our events and to the County Reps for organising and the
clubs for hosting our Open Meetings.
May I wish everyone a successful and enjoyable season. I
look forward to seeing you on a course soon.
