Sheena Wood Rosebowl Final
Congratulations to Rhona Pirie (Deeside) winning the Sheena Wood Rosebowl today at Peterculter, beating Susie Macleod (Aberdeen Ladies) 5&4.
The final was played in a most sporting manner with Rhona recieving 25 shots, which she used very well, with many nett birdies and even a nett eagle!
The weather was perfect and our thanks must go to Peterculter Golf Club for granting us courtesy of their lovely course for the match.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed playing the course, which was in excellent condition.

LYON FOURSOMES, BANCHORY GOLF CLUB JULY 31st - AUGUST 1st.
This year’s Lyon Foursomes proved somewhat eventful.
I am pleased to say we had a full complement of sixteen teams taking part including two teams from Stonehaven competing for the first time. Unfortunately the weather intervened on Monday afternoon and while the players initially continued in horrendous conditions play ultimately had to be abandoned with only one match completed due to flooding on the course despite the earlier efforts of the course manager.
Fortunately the weather improved on Tuesday and we were pleasantly surprised to see how quickly the course had recovered. I am extremely grateful to Andrew in the pro shop for rescheduling our tee times and for being so helpful. This enabled us to complete the second round matches on Tuesday morning before proceeding to both the semifinals and final in the afternoon. Thanks to all the players who turned up on Tuesday morning in some instances only to play a few holes and indeed to the finalists who had an extended day.
The semifinals were contested by Aberdeen Ladies 1 v Kemnay and Duff House Royal 1 v Stonehaven 1 with Kemnay and Duff House going on to contest a close final, Kemnay winning by 1hole. Congratulations to the Kemnay team of Fiona Pennie, Hannah Bycroft, Lynn Tough and Yvonne Moir. Commiserations to Louise Anderson, Laura McLardy, Victoria Buchan and Kyla White from Duff House
Thanks to Gail Christie and Lindsey McNiven who were our organisers this year helped by Karen Soden.
My thanks go to Banchory Golf Club for allowing us to hold our Lyon Foursomes at their club and to all those who helped during the event.
