Our Junior Girls enjoyed another fantastic day of coaching with David Pocock, head professional at Portlethen.
It was the first session for 5 of our newest young members and David put them through their paces on the putting green, in the bunkers, on the range and on the par 3 course.
Their smiles really tell the story.
The session was also attended by Finlay Aherne, Performance Pathway Development Officer from Scottish Golf who is keen to support activity in Aberdeenshire for performance focused golfers.
David and Finlay were most impressed by all the girls and we look forward to watching them make progress.

Murcar Links hosted the County Championship this past weekend . The club provided an exceptional setting, and we appreciated the warm welcome and professionalism shown throughout.
The course was in outstanding condition, their dedication and attention to detail ensured a Championship worthy of the venue. Many thanks must go to the green keeping staff, admin staff and bar and catering staff for all their help and hard work.
I must give sincere thanks to Carol Wilson for refereeing the final of the Hay Salver and to the Ladies Club Captain - Shirley Copland for refereeing the Scratch Final in the afternoon.
Throughout the event a high standard of golf was displayed by all competitors in tricky, cold and windy conditions but dry!
The winner of the best scratch qualifying score this year was Claire Prouse (Hazlehead) with a score of 78, beating Carol Wilson (Murcar Links) on the better inward half.
The handicap final was between Brianne Mackay from Duff House Royal and Suzanne Robertson (Fraserburgh). Brianne won the Hay Salver last year and successfully defended her title by beating Suzanne 4& 3. Brianne played excellent golf for her young age and shows great prospects for the future.
Congratulations to Brianne our Hay Salver (Handicap) winner.
In the Championship semi finals Kim Watt (Aberdeen Ladies) beat Sarah Ritchie (Portlethen) 3&2 and Rachel Polson (Peterculter) beat Fiona Campbell (McDonald Ellon) 6&5.
This set up a final between Kim and Rachel. Rachel went 4 up after 5 holes but Kim fought back with courage and determination, both displaying great golf and short game skills entertaining the gallery.
Congratulations go to Rachel on winning her 4th County Champion title by 3&2.
Congratulations to Rachel Polson on successfully defending the County Championship at Murcar Links.

Yesterday 12 Ladies from our Winter Coaching Sessions were selected and invited to play a Match at Peterculter Golf Club against their Mens Pennant Team.
It was a dry but very windy day. Although losing 3.5 to 2.5 playing the Men on their Home course, the Ladies did exceptionally well in the conditions as a few had only played the course once before.
It was a very worthwhile exercise with both Teams enjoying their games. Thank you to Peterculter Golf Club for allowing us to play your course and for your friendliness on and off the golf course.

We are very sad to report the death of one of our longstanding and well known county members, Pam Twinn.
A girlhood golfer from an early age, Pam was a quality player and won many prestigious titles in her home county of Durham. When she arrived in Scotland in the mid 1970s she joined Aberdeen Ladies Golf Club and it wasn’t long before she was asked to represent Aberdeenshire County which she did with considerable success. In later years, Pam’s enthusiasm & knowledge of every aspect of golf made her a natural choice as a selector at both county and at Scottish level. Always a character, witty and determined but also kind and caring, Pam will be long remembered by many as a very special lady.
Pam's Funeral Service will take place on Monday 16th March at 1.30pm at Hazlehead Crematorium ( East Chapel)
Another lovely day was had by all who attended yesterday at Murcar Links for our 2nd County Coaching Session.
Putting, Chipping, 80 yard shots and Bunker play were all demonstrated by Murcar Links Golf professional Gary Forbes who is well impressed by our Ladies skills.
We have been very lucky with the weather so far for this time of year and hopefully our last session on March 15th will be as good.
Murcar Links on a beautiful sunny day.
Today we had our first County Coaching Training Session for 2026 at Murcar Links Club Golf.
This was attended by 9 Ladies who all enjoyed getting very useful tips from Head Professional Gary Forbes who set up challenging tasks on chipping and putting.
The weather turned out so much better than originally forecast with bright sunshine most of the time and dry all in all an enjoyable day had by all.
We wish you all the best and hope you drive straight and hole all your putts!
